Ever since the fourth season of Orange Is The New Black ended on that major cliffhanger, we've been eagerly anticipating our return to Litchfield Penitentiary.
The final moments of the last episode saw inmate Daya Diaz (as played by Dascha Polanco) pointing a gun at Humphrey, the prison guard who had been systematically abusing the women of Litchfield throughout the season, leaving us asking whether or not she would eventually shoot.
Now, a first look trailer from Netflix gives us a glimpse at what happens after that fade out, with inmates rushing to join the uprising as Daya remains with a gun in her hand. Piper (Taylor Schilling) and Alex (Laura Prepon), meanwhile, are looking to avoid more trouble.
In the clip's closing moments, we finally hear a gun shot...
Earlier this year, Netflix confirmed the release date for its flagship show, revealing that all 13 episodes of the fifth season will arrive online on its June 9th, making that particular Friday a no-go for any social engagements that don't involve a date with our sofas.
A handful of new production stills issued by the streaming service show the return of many of our favourite characters: Uzo Aduba's Crazy Eyes, who was badly beaten and injured at the end of last season, is pictured walking through the hospital ward, while Litchfield's odd couple Boo and Pennsatucky seem to be raiding the commissary supplies.
Taystee and co, meanwhile, seem to have got their hands on an iPad...
Danielle Brooks, who plays Taystee, revealed at the SAG Awards in January that this season would take place over a much shorter time span, covering just three days in Litchfield.
'It will be very detailed, very intense, and you better get ready. Get your popcorn, your tissues, everything,' she told E! News.
