We always knew that mate-of-One Direction James Corden wasn’t going to give the boys a grilling when they went onto his late-night American talk show, but there are a couple of nuggets to take away from the boys’ first TV interview since Zayn Malik’s departure.
First of all, they all think Niall Horan’s misspent time as golfer Rory McIlroy’s caddy was pretty funny, dong impressions of a woman shouting, ‘Oh no, Niall’ in the clip of him falling over on live TV (probably one of those ‘you have to be there’ in-jokes, we guess).
Secondly, Harry Styles recently undertook a juice cleanse to purify himself after too much flying. ‘It was when we got off tour, cause we’d been flying so much, I felt a little gross,’ he said.
But the need-to-know from the interview? Zayn Malik. Louis Tomlinson, who’s fallen out very publicly with Zayn while he’s been in the studio with producer Naughty Boy, admitted, reports MTV: ‘There was a bit of back and forth’, and that he’s: ‘never been very good at biting [his] tongue.’
On the plus side? ‘It’s all resolved now. All good in the hood.’ Whatever that means.
As for Liam, he said that he felt a little angry and hurt at first, but that they’d all seen the signs coming for a long time, and that the boys ‘wish him the best’.
Hmmm. Very slick. We kind of prefer the disorganised clumsiness of the tweeted arguments, tbh. Watch this space, because we can’t imagine the feud between Naughty Boy and Louis ending any time soon.
