Thousands of One Direction fans who stood in the rain outside the Belfast SEE Arena had to turn round and go home after it was announced the gig was off due to Liam Payne being ill.
Many had camped out to get tickets to the On The Road tour, but in a statement on their website, One Direction’s promo company Aiken Promotions said, ‘The show tonight has been cancelled as Liam has taken ill, and whilst not serious, he is unable to perform tonight. Please hold on to your tickets. A further statement will be made this morning. The band apologise and wish Liam better.’
No word as to what’s up with poor little Liam, but a lot of word as to how the Directioners are taking it – ranging from ‘I WANT A RESCHEDULE NOT A REFUND’ (you’ll get one, probs), to, ‘Please guys don’t go to the Belfast hospital, this is so so disrespectful,’ after a rumour circulated that Liam was taken in there. Yeah, please don’t go there. The last thing anyone wants when the’'re in hospital is a crowd of One Direction fans trying to show their support. Even if you’re in One Direction.
Anyway, we hope Liam’s ailment isn’t too serious, and that he’s well enough to join the others on a stage pretty soon. This is the first time the boys have ever cancelled a gig, so you'd imagine he’s not just pulling a sickie.
