Given Kim Kardashian’s impressive beauty-industry knowledge and credentials (her $48 contour kits sold out within a couple of hours of launching, earlier this year), it was probably only going to be a matter of time before her daughter caught the make up bug.
Now four year old North West is reportedly angling to do her own vlog (perhaps having seen some of her mum’s countless Youtube tutorials), as Kim told WWD:
‘You know, the other day, it was so funny. My daughter watches so many YouTube tutorials and videos, and she was unboxing the My Little Pony ColourPop collection, and I thought to myself, 'I wish I was recording this,' because her reaction was so funny. And then she did makeup on the My Little Pony that they gave, and she said, 'Mom, I want to do a YouTube video,'’.
Apparently Kanye West didn’t take too well to the idea, but who knows what the future has in store for young North? There might be no holding her back when she gets a bit older, and Kim concedes: ‘In the world we live in today, I don’t think you ask someone young growing up to not be on social media — that’s just cruel. That’s like asking [someone] to not communicate’.
In the meantime they’ve let North phone-record a 'My Little Pony' make up tutorial just to ‘test it out’.
Kim was talking to WWD about her new trio of KKW fragrances – she had previously mistakenly captioned a teaser Instagram pic of some orchids ‘Gardenia’ (doh!), and as it turns out, each of the scents will be gardenia-inspired. Fingers poised at that laptop now – the collection launches today, and if it’s anywhere as popular as her make up it’ll sell out fast.
