As far as celebrity kids go, we know that North West is going to get a great deal in life, luxury-wise. That’s why her baptism has taken place in none other than Jersualem – the place where Jesus grew up!
See, Kim and Kanye were in Armenia together to bring attention to the history of the country. If case you’re interested, Turkey still denies that it was to blame for the deaths of 1.5 million Armenians in a 1915 genocide. Kim, Kanye and North (and Kim’s sister Khloe) were there because Kim and Khloe have Armenian heritage.
While there, Kim and Kanye obviously thought, ‘Why not pop over to Jerusalem, you know, in Israel, for a spot of baptism?’ Which is actually a pretty long journey because, well, politics means flights from Yerevan to Tel Aviv have to go via say Kiev, or Moscow. And once you’re at Tel Aviv, you have to go through oodles of security.
But anyway, Kim, dressed as a medieval handmaiden, and Kanye, dressed in angelic white, took North (clad in a white gown) to St James Cathedral, a 12th-century Armenian church to get the 22-month old toddler baptised by some men in cloaks, reports The Independent.
Nearly conspicuously absent from the proceedings was Kim’s brother, Rob. But he couldn’t even make it to Armenia. Kim had previously been carrying a cardboard cutout of Rob’s face around Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, because, an insider tells us: ‘Kim wanted Rob to come and experience Armenia, but he wasn’t up for it.’
Uh oh. The Kardashians are now due to head on to Jordan – the country, not the reality star.
