We've long suspected that Niall Horan is one of the nicest men in the music - and now we have further proof that this is definitely the case. In order to raise money for his touring crew who have been left out of work due to the coronavirus pandemic, the former One Direction singer has announced he is performing a live-streamed gig at the Royal Albert Hall on November 7.

What a guy.

Speaking to the BBC, Niall explained how some of his crew, after receiving no government support, have been forced to take other jobs. 'My stage manager is working on a building site currently,' he told the BBC. 'A couple of lads are working in Tesco and Sainsbury's. If there's no touring, they don't have a job. They've been left behind.'

Niall, who says putting on a gig is the 'least [he] could do', continued: 'Our crew members are the ones that have basically been forgotten about. Furlough doesn't touch them - and they are the ones who have mortgages and families and homes and lives to pay for [but] they haven't got any funds to do so.' The musician added that he hopes to sell 60,000 and 70,000 tickets, which he believes would be enough to pay his crew.

'I know that live events are something we all miss, and until we are able to return I want to highlight the incredible people who work in touring that make those events possible and whose livelihoods have been severely affected,' the singer said in a statement. 'I’m putting on this gig to try and raise awareness of the immense value they bring to an industry enjoyed by so many, and do something to help them and their families. I ask all my fans to support them with me and buy a ticket if you can, and I encourage all artists to do the same.'

The proceeds will be shared with Niall's touring crew who are currently unable to work and #WeNeedCrew relief fund - a recently launched hardship fund for those who are also struggling.

Tickets for the show will be go on sale herefrom 9am Friday October 16.
