We’re not sure that the 14-year-old son of a pop star is really one to be teaching young people, by way of gruesome imagery, about the atrocities being committed by Isis. Even if Rocco Ritchie is Madonna’s son, it’s not really wise to upload videos of jihadists shooting rows of children to somewhere like Instagram. However, that’s exactly what he did.

Not quite in a bid to condemn the actions of Isis, the faction that’s declared itself a state in Iraq and Syria and aims to invade more parts of the Middle East to establish a caliphate – a Sharia-law-run ‘country’. But to show people that their lives aren’t really that bad in comparison with the people being terrorised in their own homes by Isis fighters.

Rocco uploaded the grainy video, which some might say is Isis propaganda, with the caption: ‘I think if your still being a dick to people, I would stop. We’ve got a little worse of a problem on are hands here guys. We don’t need more negative ass holes here. [sic]’

And no, the problem isn’t Rocco’s spelling (though you would have thought the son of a bajillionaire might manage the difference between ‘our’ and ‘are’) – it’s Isis. In fact, the Islamist fighters are such a problem that this week the UK and US launched air strikes on Isis strongholds this week, after multiple beheadings of Western journalists and aid workers have been broadcast to the rest of the world via social media, and more people have been kidnapped, tortured and killed by the extremist group.

There are also promises from MPs that every person returning to the UK from Syria or Iraq will be considered a terrorist, as fears grow that several girls have joined the enemy to enlist as ‘jihadi brides’, as well as hundreds of westerners fighting alongside the mostly Syrian-born troops.

Anyway, as gross as all of this is, Rocco’s keeping up to date with it, something his mum is very proud of, regardless of the fact his Inst-ied video might be a bit much for people following him for videos of his hobbies (surfing, skateboarding and parkour, FYI).

The Queen of Pop posted a photo of the peace sign in flowers on a mosaic saying ‘IMAGINE’ along with the caption: ‘I applaud my Sons desire to express his outrage by posting footage of ISIS on instagram. Humans are becoming numb to this violent imagery. He is saying our problems are nothing compared to whats going on around the world. Freedom Fighting is in his blood.’

‘Lets pray for PEACE! [sic]’ she then signed off, true to Madonna post-Superbowl form, with two hashtags: ‘#rebelheart #livingforlove’
