Her apology was almost as good as confusing an education rights activist with a deadly parasitic disease…

We're all used to seeing supermodels make mistakes, namely tumbling down the catwalk, a totter in heels-turned-safety concern perhaps first made interesting in 1993 when Naomi Campbell fell while walking for Vivienne Westwood. But another, perhaps less painful mistake she's made is fumbling her fingers on her phone to congratulate 'malaria' for her Nobel Peace Prize.

See, on Friday,Malala Yousafzai was the youngest person to ever to win the Nobel Peace Prize, which she was awarded jointly with Indian child rights' campaigner Kailash Satyarthi. Naomi was quick to congratulate her via Instagram and Twitter, uploading a photo of Malala with the caption: 'Congratulations malaria on your #noblepeaceprize #2014 #Respect #joy #italljuststarted [and then a heart emoji]'

But Naomi was quick to apologise for her mistake, explaining on Saturday that she and her phone 'are at odds it seems I type a word it seems to spit out another':

We really like that she called the Nobel Peace Prize a 'Noble' one, because to be honest, in the case of Malala – not malaria – it really is noble. The funny thing is, though, we just wrote 'Malala' on our phone and the autocorrect suggestions are 'Malaga' and 'Mall.' Maybe Naomi's phone is just a bit better travelled than ours?
