Well, blow us down with a feather-light model in clompy shoes and a McDonald’s dress – Naomi Campbell is said to be a diva on the set of The Face. ‘She’s a monster. She fought with everyone on set,’ says one gobby insider on the supermodel's show.
Naomi Campbell, tricky? We’ve sort of guessed this somewhere inbetween her telling a war crimes' tribunal that her summons there – to talk about the time she hung out with Charles Taylor, somewhat corrupted leader of Liberia – was ‘an inconvenience’ and being in court for assaulting an assistant with a mobile phone.
So excuse us while we try to pull some sort of facial expression beyond an eye-roll. And, um, on that subject, according to this very same insider, facial expressions beyond an eye-roll or a death stare, may not be Naomi’s forte, as she allegedly likes to tape her face back, then hide the tape with her weave. ‘She’s taping her face skin back, which makes it look tighter, and hiding the evidence with her fabulous wigs,' an [insider told *The New York Daily News.
Could this lifehack be for real? Well, yeah, it's been around since pre-surgery classic Hollywood, and was favoured by the likes ofLucille Ball and Marlene Dietrich. So we can't dub it the Streatham Facelift, as fun as that sounds. Oh, and like all things Hollywood glamour, the face-tape is still used by drag queens to give them that taut look.
Would Naomi Campbell really do it? Probably – it fits in with her anti-plastic surgery stance: 'I don't see myself as gorgeous and I'm fed up with people saying I've had plastic surgery and lipo. I don't need it, because black don't crack,’ she said in 2005 when she was crowned one of People's 50 Most Beautiful People in the World, aged 35.
She stuck by this when later interviewed by Piers Morgan, saying she’d only get surgery if something terrible happened to her flawless face: ‘Not when I look at my mother and my grandmother, no. I've never done my tits, nothing. If I had a bad accident, then sure. But otherwise, no.’
Say what you like about Naomi, it's good to see her sticking to what she's previously said. Hehe soz.
