In news to surprise absolutely nobody, Naomi Campbell (the most revered supermodel in the world) does not care what you think about her alleged romance with Liam Payne (former One Direction heartthrob.) In an interview on The Jonathan Ross Show, which luckily airs on ITV on Saturday, the queen of high fashion shut down the presenter, as she refused to divulge whether the rumours were true.
When the host quizzed her about the former boyband member, Naomi simply responded: “'And? I never discuss my personal life.” But the sass was amped to another level when she added: “Another name?” Which of course brought Jonathan to ask about whether she got ‘close’ to Canadian rapper Drake, who she was linked to after attending Jay Z and Beyonce's annual Gold Oscar party at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles last month. “I never discuss my personal life,” she continued. “I mean, it's crazy it's like one day it's one person, the next day it's another. Who is tomorrow? That's what I want to know… For me I laugh. The stories are incredible, it's humorous… I just get on with my life.”
Naomi might be keeping cool, but you only need to look at social media to see that something has, most probably, happened between the unlikeliest couple ever. Rumours of the pair’s fledging relationship started circulating when Liam commented on an Instagram snap posted by the supermodel, writing: "Perfection in a person...don’t give me those eyes." Which is quite suggestive, not that Naomi minded, as she commented back ‘beautiful soul’ on a photo of Liam. The Sun on Sundaythen reported that the pair were enjoying ‘mind-blowing’ sex. (Good for them.)
Finally breaking her silence, while Naomi might not have confirmed the rumours, she certainly didn’t deny them, which hopefully means they’re still together – because Liam Payne and Naomi Campbell are the most entertaining A-list couple, potentially ever. They're so fascinating because they seem like such a bizarre match - but, on the other hand, they most definitely work, as it’s been no secret that Liam has been desperately trying to transform from boyband member to fledgling fashion star. Not only has he been wearing some bold and daring fashion choices – think sweatpants emblazoned with a portrait of Mona Lisa to suave, patterned suits - but Liam has made himself present at numerous fashion weeks (including last month in Milan) and industry award ceremonies. Dating the most fashionable woman in the world would mean he’s finally passed the test. Can you imagine him cheering on Naomi from the front row, as she struts down the catwalk? Our hearts! At least it would mean he's finally over Cheryl...
Happy Birthday, Naomi Campbell!
BFF 50 Cent (& maybe a lurking Leo)
First up on the guest list? Why, rapper and friend 50 Cent of course - "go girlfriend, it's your birthday" and all…
BFF P. Diddy
But Fiddy sure isn't the only rapper who's in Naomi's clique - P. Diddy and the model have been friends since P. Diddy was Puff Daddy.
BFF J-Lo
As two of Tinseltown's resident glamazons - and a long-time friend of Naomi - we'd put good money on Jennifer Lopez making an appearance to the star-studded bash.
BFF Kate Moss
These two are supermodel BFFs with Naomi regularly sharing cute throwback pics of the two of them on her Instagram (see above), so in short, Mossy can't not be there.
BFF Rihanna
Next to Mossy, Rihanna's a regular on Naomi's Instagram so we'll expect RiRi to be there - feathers and all.
BFF Lewis Hamilton
Naomi supported F1 driver Lewis at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last year so we reckon the least he could do is turn up to her birthday pardee.
BFF Jourdan Dunn
As fellow models and good mates, these two have even starred in campaigns together - so we reckon Miss Dunn is on this weekend's guest list.
BFF Beyoncé
If Bey's heading over to Naomi's birthday this weekend, something tells us matching sequins might be a thing…
BFF Paris Hilton
Unexpected? Certainly. But it turns out these two are mates, so we're guessing Paris could well have got the nod for her b-day bash.
BFF Snoop Dogg
And last but not least, Snoop. Because who wouldn't want Snoop Doggy Dogg at their birthday party?
Meanwhile, in other bizarre Naomi couplings, her appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show could mean she now has an unlikely BFF in Towie and Dancing On Ice legend Gemma Collins. Both, who have more in common than you might think, are both regularly branded ‘divas’ by the media, so when Jonathan asked Naomi what she thought about the term, she said: “I don't like that word. Never have. It just gives the wrong perception.” But The GC quickly interjected to lend her advice to the catwalk veteran: “I embrace it, I'm all for it… We should celebrate ourselves, Naomi… I am so honoured to be sitting here next to you, I'm just so not cool right now… You are my Queen, Naomi.”
We can’t wait to see Naomi get official with Liam - and Gemma.
