Her BFFs include Kate Moss, Kim Kardashian and Jourdan Dunn. Now, Naomi Campbell is calling on her famous friends to join her on the catwalk next month in Cannes for her 12th annual Fashion for Relief fundraiser.

La Moss, Beyonce, Justin Bieber, James Corden and Claudia Schiffer have all supported the event in previous years, and Naomi has also asked the world’s biggest fashion houses to contribute when she and her friends walk the runway at Cannes Mandelieu Hanger next month.

It comes after Naomi, who founded Fashion for Relief 12 years ago to mobilise the industry to support humanitarian causes, visited Syrian child refugees at the Za’atari camp in Jordan.

Proceeds from this year’s event and auction will enable Save The Children to provide life-saving food, shelter and medical treatment to children around the world including those caught in urgent humanitarian crises, and children who have been affected by Syrian conflict.

‘A disaster can strike at any time anywhere in the world and, often when it does, children are the worst affected. It’s a privilege to be able to work with Save the Children to raise the funds for children who most desperately need access to life-saving help.’

The model went on to explain that she was inspired to launch the charity by Nelson Mandela, who died in 2013.

‘He always said to use my voice to speak out about things that I care about,’ she added. ‘When you see what is happening in the world, and you see children being caught in the crossfire, you just don’t discriminate. You have to speak up and do something.’

The Fashion For Relief show will precede a gala dinner and auction featuring special items donated by influential artists, designers, celebrities and brands who Naomi has personally asked to help.

Helena Wiltshire, Head of PR at Save the Children said: ‘Right now, millions of children are at risk of hunger in South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya and Yemen, whilst millions of children around the world have been forced from their home and are living in refugee camps or making perilous journeys across Europe in the hope for safety.

‘Fashion For Relief will make a vital contribution to our life saving work around the world. Thank you to Naomi and her team for their generous support.’
