Huge congratulations are in order for Naomi Campbell, who has just announced she is a mum. Posting to Instagram a simple photo, where Naomi is holding the feet of her baby, she wrote: 'A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother. So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love.'

The supermodel, 50, is yet to share any other details about the circumstances of the arrival, and we understand: to be honest, it's nobody's business who the father of the baby is, or whether Naomi used a surrogate or adopted. We're just thrilled for her and this very lucky child who's got one of the world's most stylish women as a mum.

The congratulations have inevitably come pouring in. 'Seeing the two of you together made my year. You will bring each other so much joy,' said Vogue editor Edward Enninful. Model Erin O'Connor and fashion design legend Diane von Furstenberg also sent their best wishes.

Naomi tagged her own mum in the social media post. Parenting is something the model has wanted for a while, as back in May 2017, Naomi told ES - The Evening Standard's magazine - that 'I think about having children all the time'

Naturally, it's too soon to know if this new arrival will follow Naomi onto the catwalk one day - let them learn how to crawl for now, eh? - but if she does, she certainly won't struggle for advice. In 2018 Naomi explained that she had mentored Kaia Gerber, daughter of fellow supermodel Cindy Crawford, ensuring her stratospheric rise. 'I’m very proud of Kaia,' she said. 'I saw her and her mother at Azzedine Alaïa’s. We sat at the kitchen table and we just went through all the shows she should do and shouldn’t do at the moment. Because she’s a baby! She’ll get to them. And she has followed everything [I suggested]. I’m very proud of her.

Congratulations again, Naomi!
