Damian Lewis has become a hot favourite to take over from Daniel Craig as the new James Bond.
_The Wolf Hal_l actor is now second favourite to become everyone's favourite spy after bookies have slashed his odds following a sudden upsurge of bets being placed on the 44-year-old actor.
Rupert Adams, a spokesman for William Hill, told the* Daily Telegraph*: "This is an unprecedented gamble, as for no apparent reason we have seen bets of up to £200 on Damian Lewis being named as the next Bond. This might well be significant."
Idris Elba is still the bookies favourite to take on the role of 007, while other favourites include Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender.
