Everything else might have been rubbish this year - but at least we have been gifted with some brilliant TV throughout the pandemic. I May Destroy You, Normal People, Emily in Paris - but now the latest drama to get everybody talking is Industry, the HBO/BBC co-production exploring the life of duelling graduates in a London investment bank following the 2008 financial crisis. The first episode in the series was produced by Lena Dunham - and our attention is firmly on US up-and-coming actress 24-year-old Myha'la Herrold, who plays Harper, a grad who has moved over from New York.

But who is the woman behind Harper? Like her character, Myha'la is also from New York - but she was originally born in California and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh in 2018 with a BFA degree in Drama, Acting and Music Theater. While she might be new to the small screen, Dazed reports that Myha'la started her career on Broadway as Nabulungi in The Book of Mormon at the age of 21.

You can follow Myha'la on Instagram - @mmyhala; she currently has 3,500 followers. But, as more episodes air, that's obviously going to rise.

Myha'la is also passionate about making the industry more diverse. 'What’s exciting about someone like me in the entertainment industry right now is that other young queer women of colour will see someone who looks like them,' the actress told Dazed that she wants to work on one project like Industry a year, and that she's also started writing a script.
