Many, many things happened at the 2018 MTV VMAs (including Jennifer Lopez's incredible performance), but perhaps none more surprising than the announcement that The Hills is returning to our screens. Yes, we're more excited than we should be, but who didn't love Lauren Conrad and co?
Well, that's where the catch is. While Spencer, Heidi and Stephanie Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Justin Bobby (!), Jason Wahler and Frankie Delgado all look set to make a return to the network in The Hills: New Beginnings, there were a fair few absent faces at the VMAs. Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port and Kristin Cavallari – who now stars in her own E! show, Very Cavallari – were nowhere to be seen at the awards show.
While the reunion was initially teased on the red carpet by Spencer Pratt, The Hills: New Beginnings was later confirmed in a mysterious advert, promising the show is 'coming soon'. A statement on MTV's website says, 'The Hills: New Beginnings will reunite original cast members, alongside their children and friends, and follow their personal and professional lives as they reside in Los Angeles. With new faces in the picture and returning favourites, The Hills is back for a new beginning.'
The series is slated for a 2019 release, meaning we've still got at least four months to catch up on the previous seasons. Now where did we leave those boxsets?
