It was thrilling enough to find out that a live-action Jem and the Holograms movie is in the works, but our brains cannot handle the latest news that 80s bratpack fave Molly Ringwald is to star in the movie.

Ringwald starred a ton of epic teen movie classics including Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles, so is basically perfect for this movie, since the animated series ran from 1985 to 1988.

Jem/Jerrica Benton will be played by Nashville actress Aubrey Peeples, who can definitely sing and has great hair that will definitely look awesome dyed bright pink. Okay, we know it's probs a wig, but still.

The Holograms will be played by Stefanie Scott, Aurora Perrineau and Hayley Kiyoko and Juliette Lewis will also star in the movie, which is a total bonus. Shooting has already begun in Los Angeles and fans have been posting to the Jem Tumblr page about being extras during live performance scenes. Oh, to live in L.A.!
