Out of this year’s cohort of Love Island contestants, Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague are one of the only couples who have stayed together. The pair, who live together, regularly post to social media, letting their fans know that their bond is still strong after leaving the villa.
Posting to his Instagram story after going to the gym, Tommy shared a video of Molly-Mae, who it appeared had cooked for. ‘Hard training session at the gym,’ he says, ‘but I come home to wifey goals.’ Molly-Mae, looking slightly camera shy across the table, laughs.
But rather than the sweet gesture of Molly cooking for Tommy, fans have decided to focus on the dinner - of chicken and various veg - that she served. (‘That chicken Molly-Mae cooked for Tommy is beige. I’m am so sorry but beige coloured chicken is highly unacceptable.’ )
So much so, that Tommy himself has responded, saying that the (flavourless looking) meal was due to his training as a boxer. ‘Can I just say that the meal @mollymaehague made for me was a fighters meal clean cut food I don’t like seasoning or any of that btw,’ he tweeted. ‘It was the most caring thing anyone has ever done for me so thanks for the meal babe I love you, come on guys where’s the love.’
Molly-Mae even poked fun at herself, retweeting ‘If I see that meal Molly-Mae made one more time this morning the risk of me throwing up is high’ with the comment ‘same tbh.’
During his time in the villa, Tommy caused controversy by creating a dire looking cheese sandwich, something which fans haven’t forgotten. ‘People are slating that meal Molly Mae hit Tommy Fury with and rightly so, but pls don’t forget he tried to serve cheese on bread with a bottle of mayo as a starter,’ one fan wrote on Twitter.
