Molly-Mae Hague might not have won Love Island, but she's pretty much winning at life right now. The runner-up – who finished second in the competition with her boyfriend Tommy Fury – not only has 3.2million followers on Instagram, but has just launched her first collection for PrettyLittleThing (which was reported to have made her a cool £500,000). At last night's glitzy launch party in Manchester, the social media star told Grazia how to look your best - on Instagram and in real life.

How did it feel to have PrettyLittleThing approach you for this project?

It was the biggest dream come true. I never, never expected it to happen. It's still not sunk in – and I don't think it ever will.

How involved have you been in the designing process?

I've been extremely involved in the whole process with my collection coming to life. I went to PLT with a very, very strong idea of what I wanted it to look like. My friends have seen the collection and told me how it's [my style] to a T - but people who aren't me can totally wear it and style it how they want.

Have you had any advice from previous PLT ambassador Megan Barton-Hanson?

I've not spoken to Megan and I know her collection was entirely different - it was very glam, with more nighttime looks. Mine is more street-style, daytime looks - you can kind of make it whatever you want though, so it's a very, very different collection.

What are your top styling secrets?

I think my top styling secrets would probably be just to wear whatever you feel comfortable in - whatever you feel like wearing on that day. My style just completely depends on what mood I'm in, some days I wake up in the morning and feel like wearing a grungy outfit - or a more girly outfit. I never follow any set plan on what I'm going to wear, and I think that just feels nicer. When you feel confident in an outfit, it shows. And I think that makes the outfit look good in itself.

Has Tommy ever helped you to choose an outfit?

I've definitely helped Tommy with a lot of outfits - he is yet to help me choose! He helps me with Instagram pictures though. Sometimes I'll send him a few Instagram pictures and ask him 'Which one do you prefer' and he's very good and will help me choose with that. But outfits is definitely not his forte.

What are you top tips for an amazing Instagram?

I think the tops for having an amazing Instagram would be to stay consistent with your posting. But in terms of actually taking a good picture, it's all about the lighting. Making sure you have that strong Instagram lighting is so important. For any influencers who would like advice from me, it would be to just make sure you stay consistent and post every day, as many times as you can.

Who has been your best celebrity follow on Insta?

Millie Bobby Brown follows me on Instagram, but I know she has quite a big obsession with Love Island, so I think she follows quite a few of the Love Islanders, which is quite strange. I never watched Stranger Things! A lot of big influencers followed me, who I've looked up to for years, who now follow me back, which I never in a million years would have expected to follow me back and it's really big for me.

You and Tommy are both so busy - how do you make time for each other?

We found it really easy to make time for each other. Whenever we have a spare minute, we're always together and even if we're not together we're Facetiming each other 24/7 so it's not been a challenge for us. I think if you like someone enough you make the time for them, whether they live round the corner or in Australia. We make the time.

Who is the most fun on a Love Island night out?

I've not actually been on a Love Island night out! Tonight's going to be the first night where we're together, I've not seen the girls since, it's just been super busy.

And what are your next fashion plans?

One day I would love to release my own clothing company, that's a huge goal of mine. Clothing is my everything, fashion is my life - it's what I wake up in the morning and do. It's everything to me. I'm not too sure yet, but I have a lot of plans in my head. I mean over the next few, weeks, months, I've got plans for other things hair related which I can't wait to share with you.
