Love Island 's Molly-Mae Hague has told her Instagram followers that mole removed from her leg was a malignant melanoma, meaning that it was cancerous. She has shared a video explaining the news, explaining that the diagnosis followed tests made by a doctor after two dermatologists told her it was nothing to worry about.
'It's obviously petrifying, shocking and scary', she says in the video. 'I don't even know what to think or say. I cannot believe I was told by others doctors it was OK. I am so upset and angry.'
'I just briefly asked this doctor when I was walking out. I was walking around with skin cancer on my leg!
'If I hadn't have asked, I'd still have that mole on my leg now and I'd be none the wiser. It could be spreading through my body, you just never know.'
It follows revelations Molly-Mae made last month. 'So about three weeks ago now I was advised that a mole I had on my leg needed removing,' she wrote on her Instagram story. 'I had the procedure done within a few days.'
'Last week I received my results back and it's safe to say they were not at all what I was expecting,' she added. 'I've been trying to process the information I received whilst being super busy with work and it's not been easy.'
The reality star continued, telling followers she was wanted to share what she was going through to raise awareness and that she would update them after she has had more surgery. This new video is said update.
'I'm still not able to give my full diagnosis until my further surgery has taken place and I've received those results but for now I'm just trying to stay positive,' she said at the time. 'I never thought at 21 something like this would happen to me and it's very scary but all I know is that I absolutely need to share my story and what I'm going through to raise awareness of the situation... I'll keep you all updated as much as I can, I've already received so many lovely messages from you guys and I appreciate it so much.'
Molly had previously told fans her her suspicious mole has developed when she was in the Love Island villa. In September, she shared photos - following the removal of her mole - of her bandaged leg and surgical wound, writing: 'Not going to go into too much detail until I have my results back next week but this just goes to show how important getting different doctors' opinions is.'
