The internet was buzzing after Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet revealed he popped the question to girlfriend Lindsay Schweitzer!
Stonestreet is best known for his Emmy-winning portrayal of Cameron Tucker in the US Sitcom.
The actor took to Instagram to announce the news, sharing 3 snaps alongside his beaming bride to be. He added the funny caption - 'She said, “she’d have her people call my people.”'
Eric’s fellow Modern family co-stars rushed to his Instagram comments to congratulate the happy couple.
Arielle Winter commented, ‘ Fuck yeah – you finally wifed up the QUEEN! Love you both, Congrats!
Rico Rodriguez - who played Manny replied, ‘ Wohooo congrats Jesse’, to which Eric replied ‘Thanks’ Nolan’ – this must be an inside joke with fellow co-stars Jesse Tyler and Nolan Gould.
Although Jesse Tyler only played his on-screen husband – Jesse’s actual husband Justin Mikita commented, ‘FINALLY! Congrats!’
Eric and paediatric nurse Lindsay first met in 2016 at a charity event in Kansas City, before confirming their relationship a year later. In 2012 rumours surfaced that Stonestreet was dating Charlize Theron, after the pair were pictured together at the White House Correspondents Dinner. However, Eric joked about the rumours, tweeting 'I wish people would stop spreading rumors that Charlize Theron and I are dating. Its starting to make Halle Berry jealous.'
But back to his relationship with Lindsay - in September 2017 the actor appeared on The Ellen Show and opened up about their relationship during a chat with host, Ellen DeGeneres.
He revealed ‘She calms me. She calms my nerves- I’m a very high- strung person.’
They sound like a perfect match – congrats to the husband and wife to be!
