Lily Cole announced this weekend that she had given birth to a daughter by posting two pictures on her Instagram page. She accompanied the announcement with a little ditty on her website that read:
'Wylde. Born on the hottest day. Ordinary. Extraordinary. Witchcraft. Wilderness.
Love beyond doubt. Love, a fact of life. Without fear or choice. Wylde Cole Ferreira. We have a little girl - YAY!'
There's little doubt Lily will have passed on some strong genes to her firstborn. The famous redhead is one of the most successful models of her generation, landing her first Vogue cover at just 16 years old.
She proved that she has the brains to match her beauty too, after she was awarded a Double First in History of Art at Cambridge University in 2011.
The 27-year-old has also starred in several films, owns two ethical businesses and is a prolific campaigner of humanitarian and environmental causes.
On her Instagram profile, Lily smiles happily at the camera with the baby's face just out of sight at the bottom of the page, in the second image a tiny hand is seen tugging at her famous auburn locks.
Lily's partner of three years Kwame Ferreira fathered the child.
The couple met while working on her website Impossible.com, a social network where people can gift their time, skills and possessions to help out others. Last March, she said of their relationship: "I met Kwame when I was in the process of developing Impossible and he offered the most profound gift, to help build the platform. After working together for a long time Kwame and I fell in love."
As well as helping Lily to build her business, Kwame juggles a number of other projects including Kwamecorp, his own global innovation agency and incubation fund.
We'd put good money on their little girl becoming a future Prime Minister.
