Being a model isn’t the easy work people make it out to be. You’d have thought when you’re at a glitzy celebrity-strewen party on the merits of your stunning looks that you’d be able to let your hair down and relax and accept free drinks from creepy strange blokes at the bar. However, this wasn’t the case for Megan Hawkins, the 19-year-old professional clothes horse who got shot in the bum at Chris Brown’s pre-VMAs party.
Just in case Chris’ breezy (get it? That’s his self-devised nickname) demeanour on the VMAs red carpet the next day – all poses, strolls, give-a-fuck shrugs and Rita Ora hugs – didn’t get it across, there was a shooting at his party.

Rap mogul Suge Knight, who was attending the party at 1Oak club in West Hollywood (that’s 1 Oak, not 10 ak, in case you were wondering) was shot six times in the stomach, chest and arm. While it’s pretty clear that Suge – who is going to have surgery at Cedars-Sinai hospital – was the intended victim of the gunman, officers investigating the case said, according to CBS: ‘Video shows the suspect with a handgun firing at Knight [and] striking the two other victims who were in his vicinity.’

One stray bullet hit a 32-year-old man, another got 19-year-old Megan in the bum. She’s now recuperating in hospital, and posted a pretty funny Instagram photo of herself with a Zimmer frame, along with the comment: ‘My ass took a 9mm and I'm keeping it as a souvenir.’

However, she’s since deleted the picture, reports The Mirror. Probably because some commenters won’t have taken kindly to her making jokes about being shot while Suge and the other guy are still recovering and the gunman is still at large. Talk about hitting a bum note. But then again, getting shot – and surviving – is sort of something to gloat about, right? Especially when it’s in your bottom.
