The body of missing designer Jay Ott has been found floating in New York City’s East River, over a month after he disappeared from his Brooklyn apartment.

Ott, who previously worked with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen on The Row, failed to show up for work on 24 March. Security footage showed Ott leaving his loft in Bushwick in the early hours of 23 March. Further footage showed him entering the pedestrian walkway of the Manhattan Bridge but it’s unclear where he went after that.

In a message on Facebook, Ott’s parents confirmed that the designer was found in the East River, but said that he did not jump off the bridge and an autopsy is to be carried out. 31-year-old Ott was reported to have suffered from anxiety.

Ott had been working at The Dock Group before he disappeared. Many in New York's fashion community, including Mary-Kate and Ashley, had appealed for information via social media about his disappearance.
