Meghan Markle’s Close Friend Misha Nonoo Has Released A Maternity Collection

Misha Nonoo is not just the woman who is thought to have introduced Prince Harry to Meghan Markle, thereby putting an historical royal romance into motion. She’s also a fashion designer, bringing style to sustainability through her eponymous label. Now, she’s making her next step towards world domination: maternity wear.

Today, Misha released a new maternity-friendly capsule collection. A collaboration with American label Hatch, it acknowledges the fact that most women don’t want to throw away or donate their maternity wear. Instead, this can be kept and worn post-pregnancy. The items – a dress available in white or blue, and an oversized version of her Husband Shirt – are available now.

It is the Husband Shirt that holds a particular play in Meghan and Harry’s history. Meghan wore one of the pieces to the Invictus Games in 2017, the first time she and Harry had been photographed together. She wore another of the pieces last month, during her final days in the UK before her move to Canada. Not only that: Meghan enlisted Misha’s help last year for her Smart Works collection, which asked Marks & Spencer, Jigsaw and John Lewis to create clothes for working women, which in turn benefitted the women turning to Smart Works for help.

Nonoo was the perfect person to get involved in the undertaking. She is pregnant with her first child, having married energy corporation heir Mike Hess.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Nonoo explained why she and Meghan work well together. ‘We were so honoured to work with the Duchess, she’s so extraordinarily thoughtful. I’m honoured when we see her wear something. The Smart Set collection was a great example of her thinking about others. She’s so conscious when she’s putting her wardrobe together.’

Nonoo is currently on a styling tour, with one of the stops taking her to Toronto. The perfect opportunity for a Meghan/Misha reunion. At least we know what she’ll be wearing...
