Miranda Kerr has announced her engagement to Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel after one year of dating.

The Australian supermodel took to Instagram to share the happy news – and a black and white shot of her uh-mazing diamond engagement ring – with her followers. Unlike your common-or-garden ‘I said yes’ snap, though, Miranda’s pic is overlaid with – you guessed it – a custom ‘Marry Me!’ Snapchat filter, depicting cartoon avatars of the happy couple. Modern romance, hey?

A source told US Weekly that Miranda and 26-year-old tech entrepreneur Evan are ‘both completely smitten,’ before revealing that they will have ‘an extravagant wedding, in true Evan style. Miranda certainly won’t mind!’ We wouldn’t mind either, really, considering that Spiegel was recently valued by Forbes magazine at $2.1 billion.

The pair met at a Louis Vuitton dinner in 2014, and went public as a couple in June 2015. Kerr has previously revealed that her and Evan were close friends before hitting it off romantically, telling Australia’s Sunday Morning Herald: ‘we were really good friends for a long time before we started dating.’

The former Victoria’s Secret Angel was married to Orlando Bloom from 2010 to 2013, and shares a 5-year-old son named Flynn with the British actor. In past interviews, she has revealed that she decided to wait six months before introducing Spiegel to her son.

‘[Orlando and I decided] that we had to know the person for six months and feel good about them [before introducing them to our son]. Evan met Flynn, so yeah, things are going well.’

Miranda’s ex, who is currently dating singer Katy Perry, is apparently a fan of Spiegel, too. ‘Orlando thinks he’s great,’ she said. ‘We’re just a modern family now!’
