Miley Cyrus’s recent interview with* Paper* magazine has got a lot of attention, and not just for the arty nude photo shoot featuring lots of mud, body paint and a live pig.
The 22-year-old singer disclosed that she first told her mother she was attracted to women as well as men at the age of 14. Nowadays, both her sexual identity is open and fluid. ‘I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn't involve an animal and everyone is of age’ she revealed. ‘I don't relate to being boy or girl, and I don't have to have my partner relate to boy or girl.’
But these details of her personal life aren’t the only interesting things Miley said in her interview with Paper. She also discussed her charity The Happy Hippy Foundation, which was created to raise funds and awareness for homeless and LGBT young people. It provides vulnerable youths with art and animal therapies, both of which have also helped the star herself.
The singer angrily denounced Christian fundamentalist politicians in the US, who make laws that harm the wellbeing of LGBT people. ‘Those people [shouldn't] get to make our laws," she is quoted as saying. Those people - the ones who believe that, say, Noah's Ark was a real seafaring vessel. That's fucking insane.’
