Liam Hemsworth Breaks Silence Following Spilt From Miley Cyrus

Following speculation sparked only hours before the official announcement this Sunday – by an Instagram post in which Miley Cyrus was pictured sans-wedding ring – her rep confirmed that the singer and husband Liam Hemsworth had split.

Speaking to People, Cyrus’s representative explained ‘Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.’

When the news broke, Cyrus was on holiday in Italy with Kaitlynn Carter – also recently separated, from her ex Brody Jenner.

Speculation of romance between Kaitlynn and Miley preceded the announcement of Cyrus’s split from Hemsworth, as ET released pictures on August 10th which seem to show the pair kissing poolside. Miley’s rep continued, saying that Cyrus and Hemsworth ‘still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart’ before requesting that the public ‘Please respect their process and privacy.’

Now, Liam has broken his silence by posting a heartfelt message on Instagram wishing Miley well.

Miley and Liam married in December 2018, following a decade-long relationship with its fair share of ups and downs – the pair split in 2013, before getting back together two years later. Miley recently spoke to Elle about her relationship in their August issue, opening up about her sexuality and their ‘complex, and modern’ marriage. ‘I'm in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women’, she said. ‘I made a partner decision. This is the person I feel has my back the most’, Miley explained of Liam. ‘I definitely don't fit into a stereotypical wife role. I don't even like that word.’
