After just six weeks of dating, Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter have gone their separate ways.
There's no bad blood between the pair however, and they're vowing to stay friends after their brief romance.
A source told People, "Miley and Kaitlynn broke up. They’re still friends, they’ve been friends forever and were there for each other when they were both getting separated. But they’re just not in a romantic relationship anymore."
Miley and Kaitlynn's whirlwind romance sparked controversy as news first broke that they were an item just days after the singer split from husband Liam Hemsworth.
The 26-year-old quickly denied rumours she'd been unfaithful during her marriage when questions of an overlap of relationships arose, tweeting, 'I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating. Liam and I have been together for a decade. I’ve said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will.'
Kaitlynn was also quick to move on after breaking up with husband Brody Jenner weeks before she was spotted kissing Miley during a girls holiday to Lake Como, Italy.
The pair made a series of public appearances together and it was even reported that the girls had moved in together.
Liam filed for divorce from Miley earlier this year after seven months of marriage. The divorce could be finalised as early as next month due to a 'very specific' prenup the pair signed, which will keep their earnings separate following the marriage.
