With Lana Del Rey's billboard fiasco and Shakira's new diss track, it looks like 2023 is the year to drag your ex. And now, Miley Cyrus has dropped a new track that's just the right amount of petty and powerful.
The star sent the internet into meltdown after releasing the music video for new single 'Flowers' - and fans are convinced that ex-husband Liam Hemsworth might not love the song as much as we all do.
Fans of the former golden couple will remember the pair were set to be one of 2010s biggest power duos, with theiron-off relationship seeing them engaged twice and secretly married in 2018, before divorcing just eight months later. Now, with the music video fully released and at over one million views in the first three days, internet sleuths think Miley's making more than one dig against the actor.

In the Instagram posts, Miley wrote, ‘New Year, New Miley' - adding that the single was set to be released on 13 January.
You know what else happens to fall on that date? The birthday of a certain Hunger Games star.
The teaser also showed a golden-clad Miley having a quick booty shake as she strutted up a street - a move that is all too similar to the manoeuvre she performed against then-hubby Liam on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty in 2019.

With Miley reigning as the queen of pulling off looks, there's little surprise that fans have spotted some Easter eggs in the outfits she wore.
During the music video, Miley can be spotted dancing around in an oversized men's suit. But this isn't just any suit. In fact, the internet thinks it might just be the suit worn by Liam during that premiere where he told Miley to 'behave'.
Whilst it's tough to know if it is the exact suit worn by her ex (after all, there are many a black tux in the world), dancing wildly in his suit after being told to behave is the comeback we've all been waiting for.
Miley also has yet another mic-drop moment after popping on a gold vintage YSL number.
Fashion afficionados have done their research and traced the dress back to F/W 1991 - which is also around the time Liam was born. This one might just be reaching, but it's a noteworthy look either way.

Whilst it's (unsurprisingly) unconfirmed at the mo, fans are convinced that the house Miley can be seen in during the 'Flowers' video is the house that her ex-husband would allegedly rent to cheat on her. The pair have never publicly acknowledged the reasons behind their break up - other than Miley briefly calling their nuptials 'a f*cking disaster.'Ouch.
Again, the cheating rumours are all just allegations at this time - but even Miley's fellow celebs are sharing their two pennies on the drama, with Julia Fox getting in on the drama.
And as if we weren't obsessed enough already, the video also shows Miley looking hot AF as she performs an impressive workout routine in lingerie.
Filled with rubber bands and big old ropes, this doesn't look like your average five minute workout routine you pull up on YouTube. In fact, fans are thinking it sounds quite similar to the routine that Liam himself did to get in shape for his more-often-than-not topless roles.

As soon as 'Flowers' was released, fans couldn't help but feel they recognised the catchy tune. And as it turns out, there's a very good chance you've heard it before in two very popular songs.
You might have already picked up that the song parallels Bruno Mars' 'When I Was Your Man.'
It's been said that 'When I Was Your Man' was the song that Liam dedicated to Miley at their wedding. But whilst Bruno wishes he'd brought her flowers and held her hand, Miley spins the lyrics to say, actually, she can buy herself flowers and hold her own hand.
And it's not just Bruno fans have heard in the song, but a bit of Gloria Gaynor too!

Whether Miley intended for the track to be a diss or not, her fans still have some thoughts on Liam - both good and bad.
One Twitter user wrote, 'These two fell in love when she was young and when she was being made to "tame" herself for the public, so I think these two are just two people who had love for each other but weren't meant to be together.'
But not everyone was so understanding of young love gone wrong, with one sharing 'I honestly have no idea what she was even doing with him. I'm not saying he's a bad person or any of that; but DAMN he failed the vibe checks so hard.'
Whether she's making some not-so-subtle digs at her ex or simply dropping a banger, both Miley and Liam have since found love with other people - with Miley debuting her relationship with musician Maxx Morando in November 2021, and Liam reportedly dating model Gabriella Brooks since 2019.
