Miley Cyrus has responded to backlash following comments she made on an Instagram live with her new boyfriend Cody Simpson{
Following criticism from the LGBTQ+ community, Cyrus has now backed down on her comments. ‘I was talking shit about sucky guys, but let me be clear, YOU don’t CHOOSE your sexuality,’ she said, writing on Twitter. ‘You are born as you are. It has always been my priority to protect the LGBTQ community I am part of.’
In the video, Cyrus said, ‘There are good men out there, guys, don’t give up. You don’t have to be gay, there are good people with dicks out there, you’ve just got to find them. You’ve got to find a dick that’s not a dick, you know? I always thought I had to be gay, because I thought all guys were evil, but it’s not true. There are good people out there that just happen to have dicks. I’ve only ever met one, and he’s on this live.’
Since splitting with reality star Kaitlynn Carter last month, Cyrus seems happier than ever with Simpson. And their relationship is most definitely still in the honeymoon phase, with the pair regularly posting loved-up pics to social media. Simpson even recently penned a poem for the singer, calling her 'a ballerina on the promenade'.
Liam Hemsworth filed for divorce from Cyrus earlier this year after seven months of marriage. Carter and Cyrus' whirlwind romance sparked controversy as news first broke that they were an item just days after the singer split from Hemsworth.
