Miley Cyrus' Art Exhibition, titled Dirty Hippie, opened today and it was pretty much everything you’d imagined, and also quite good, in a five-foot-bong-decorated-with-friendship-bracelets-and-loom-bands sort of way.

The collaged sculptures created in conjunction with V Magazine and Jeremy Scott are being shown at the V gallery on Mercer Street in New York, and will also feature in Jeremy Scott’s NYFW show later on today. The sculptures themselves include a five-foot bong made out of stuff fans have thrown at her while she’s performing, and a giant M made out of ‘junk and shit’ she had building up in her house.

It became a metaphor for her life, she told V Magazine, because 2014 was really not her year: ‘A bunch of shitty things kept happening. I’ve always been so fucking lucky. Everything has always just been easy for me. And at the beginning of this year, I hated 2014, because everything that could go wrong kept going wrong. Being in the hospital, my dog dying… Everything just kept shitting on me and shitting on me. So then I started taking all of those shit things and making them good, and being like, I’m using it,’ she explained. ‘My brother and my friends all said that’s what they felt I was doing. So, that’s how I started making art. I had a bunch of fucking junk and shit, and so instead of letting it be junk and shit, I turned it into something that made me happy.’

Fair enough, luv.

There was another, equally valid reason for her project: ‘That’s my goal in my life – to not die a pop pop dumb dumb. I can’t. I will freak out,’ she told V. ‘I just wanted to give myself something I can work at, and even now, if I had more time and I wasn’t on tour, I know I could outdo any of this because I’ve grown while doing it.’

Nothing like making a face out of little bears to keep your spirits up, eh, Miley?
