Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher’s relationship reads like the best Hollywood film script. Met 20 years ago on That ‘70s Show (when Mila was just 14-years old), stayed friends, shared heartache, realised they were meant to be together all along and fell in love, got married in secret last summer, gave birth to the cutest daughter (19-month old Wyatt Isabelle) in 2014 and baby number two on the way.
But as Mila reveals in her most frank interview to date, their relationship hasn’t always been the fairy tale it’s portrayed to us mere mortals.
‘We went through a period where I thought he was crazy,’ Mila told Glamour magazine. ‘At the height of his career, I was like, “Ugh, I don’t like you. I don’t even know you anymore. You think you’re such hot s**t.”’
She adds that their relationship was so strained they both had ‘full friendship breakups.
Adding: '[But] then we’d get back together and be like, “Oh, sorry. I didn’t mean to overreact"'.
One can only assume the Bad Moms actress is referring to Ashton’s dating every hot Hollywood actress / post-Dude Where’s My Car fame in the early ‘00s (when Mila was in a long-term relationship with Home Alone actor Macaulay Culkin).
Yes, they’ve gone through periods of frustration with each other but in the end, that’s what has brought them together.
‘There’s nothing we don’t know about each other,’ Mila says. ‘Because we’ve known each other for so long: the ugly, the bad, the good.’
For all the red carpet snaps of the A-list duo, they might just be the most un-Hollywood couple in Hollywood right now.
And we love them all the more for it.
