Just stop asking when she’s going to have children, please

Actress Michelle Keegan, who has just made her latest appearance in Sky One’s new comedy drama Brassic, is fed up of questions directed at her womb.

Earlier this month, Michelle and her ex-TOWIE star husband Mark Wright celebrated four years of marriage. Four years of happiness, but also four years of endless questions about the state of her marriage and why on earth she hasn’t decided to have kids yet.

There’s probably not an interview she’s given where she’s not asked: ‘So, you’ve been married for a while now, when are you going to have a sprog?’ or ‘What will happen to your work when you have kids?’.

Michelle is, quite rightly, sick of it and has explained her frustration that her husband does not have to face the same questions, and that she is asked because she is a woman in her 30s.

In a recent interview with The Sun, she said she finds 'everyone’s obsession' with her becoming a mother 'horrible'.

'It's like: 'You're 32. Are you not planning to have a baby yet?' People don't know if we're trying. They don't know the background of what's happening. It's no-one else's business. In this day and age you shouldn't ask questions like that.'

She added: ‘I'm asked purely because I'm a woman. But I'm immune to it now - it's like a reaction and as soon as I hear it I brush it off, as it's no-one else's business.’

Michelle isn’t the only celebrity who is fed up of it either. Back in May, Taylor Swift, who recently turned 30, spoke about constantly having to spend time batting off silly and extremely sexist questions.

Will this ever end?
