Meghan Markle’s best friend Jessica Mulroney was spotted arriving at Heathrow this weekend ahead of the royal wedding on 19 May. The Canadian stylist was reportedly in town ahead of the final dress fitting, as well as a second mini-hen do for those who missed her Soho Farmhouse bash earlier in the year.
‘Jessica is Meghan’s BFF and has been a huge influence,’ a source told The Sun. ‘Meghan’s turned to her for advice on everything from the dress, the flowers, decorations in church, the wedding lunch — and even the seating plan. She is the real power behind the throne in this royal wedding and has been invaluable.
‘Although Jess lives in Toronto, the two are on the phone all the time. Meg wanted Jess at the final fitting as it’ll be the most famous dress of the year and she’s quite nervous about it. It all went really well and they were delighted with the result.’
The Sun is also reporting that Markle’s dress needed some final alterations after the former Suits star lost some weight ahead of her nuptials, while the source also revealed that not even Prince Harry knows who the designer is.
‘The dress is the biggest secret of the wedding – not even Harry knows who’s designing it,’ the source continued. ‘Meghan has had fittings at a London atelier, not her home. There are two dresses - one for the church and then another glamorous outfit for the evening party.’
Favourites to design the dress include couturiers Ralph & Russo, who she chose for her engagement pictures, Canadian designer Erdem and British heritage brand Burberry.
