We all know Meghan Markle is pregnant, but the one thing we don’t yet know is just where she is going to give birth - and the due date is very, very quickly approaching! Here’s everything we know so far.
Will Meghan Markle give birth in the Lindo Wing?
The Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in London has been the (very fancy) choice of Kate Middleton for the births of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, in a tradition that was started by Princess Diana. And, not going to lie, it’s easy to see why - the first class hospital offers expecting mums the opportunity to indulge in afternoon tea, lavish menus and bottomless champagne to celebrate the birth. But, tempting as the champagne might be, Meghan could eschew this royal tradition.
Will Meghan Markle give birth at Frimley Park, Sussex?
Well, it would make sense. She is the Duchess of Sussex, after all, and Harry and Meghan’s new Windsor Estate home is 15 miles from Frimley Park. “If their Royal Highnesses have moved to Frogmore Cottage before the birth, as planned, Frimley Park may be a more easily accessible option than St Mary’s,” a source toldthe Daily Mail. Prince Edward’s wife, Sophie, also gave birth to Lady Louise Windsor and Viscount Severn there.
Has Meghan Markle been told not to pose for photos after the birth?
Yes. (And honestly, who would want a photo shoot after the most stressful experience of your life!?) The Duchesswas told - in a full-page advert for The New York Times - by Fridababy CEO and mother-of-three Chelsea Hirschhorn to skip the usual photoshoot immediately after the birth of a royal baby. "Bringing a new life into the world usually starts with your vagina, and the aftermath is a mess," she wrote to Meghan, who is due in a few weeks. At least she’s honest.
Wait a minute, could Meghan Markle give birth in America?
According to Diana's former butler and close friend Paul Burrell, yes. Speaking to The Sun, he said: "I don’t think she will use the Lindo Wing, I think she will use an American hospital like The Portland, which is owned by the Hospital Corporation Of America. I don’t think she will go the same path as Kate. I get the feeling she’s out to do things differently, it’s her way, Meghan’s way. I think she’s going to be very strong and defiant."
When is Meghan Markle due to have the royal baby?
Soon! When Megan stepped out in Birkenhead in January, it was reported she had given away that she was “six months pregnant” - meaning she was likely to be due “end of April/beginning of May”. Not long to go!
