How Meghan Markle Was Almost Cast In Her Own Lifetime Movie

When The Crown’s executive producer Suzanne Mackie said that Meghan Markle could play herself in the series, she was presumably joking.

But Meghan was very nearly cast in her own Lifetime Movie, according to an interview with Menhaj Huda, the director of an upcoming Lifetime movie about Meghan and Harry’s relationship.

If you haven’t heard about the upcoming film documenting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s courtship, it’s called Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance and will air on May 13 – just seven days before the royal wedding.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, director Huda said that Meghan Markle’s name actually came up in the casting search. Huda said Meghan Markle’s name was submitted to the production team in a list of actresses to consider casting, he later noted that it was either a practical joke or a glitch on a database – she was acting in Suits up until quite recently after all.

Meghan Markle will be played by Parisa Fitz-Henley in the film alongside Murray Fraser who plays Prince Harry.

Huda also mentioned that the royal family are a little worried about a sex scene in the film ‘What I’ve heard is that they’re seriously worried about the sex scene,’ he said.

And here’s the trailer to whet your appetite.
