Meghan Markle has made her first official appearance at an event with Prince Harry - but sadly, she wasn't sat next to him.
The Toronto-based actress attended the opening night of the prince's Invictus Games, a sporting event he set up in 2014 for injured veterans around the world. Prince Harry was seperated from his girlfriend as he sat in a special VIP section next to American First Lady Melania Trump and Canadian President Justin Trudeau. Apparently this didn't stop him checking in on her, though, with witnesses saying he couldn't keep his eyes off his Suits star girlfriend.

The royal had official meetings with both earlier in the day, becoming the first member of the royal family to meet a Trump. It came after a petition earlier this year calling for Donald Trump's invitation to the UK to be revoked, with one of the reasons cited being thtat it would 'embarrass' the Queen. Harry, as well as his brother William and sister-in-law Kate Middleton, were known to share a close relationship with the Obamas.
Indeed, Harry is known for his bantering friendship with President Trudeau, too, and the pair looked at ease in their rendez-vous. The Canadian President had previously joined Barack Obama in promoting the last Invictus Games with a tongue-in-cheek video challenging Prince Harry. The Queen also featured.
Harry launched his Invictus Games in 2014 in London and has since gone on to hold them in Orlando, Florida in 2016, while the next event will be in Sydney, Australia in 2018.
He previously served with the British Army in Afghanistan, and has spoken about how his experiences made him decide to do more to support injured serviceman. He delivered a speech to the crowds in Toronto explaining how one helicopter journey changed his world view.
'As I was waiting on board the plane, the coffin of a Danish soldier was loaded on by his friends. Once on the flight, I was confronted with three British soldiers, all in induced comas with missing limbs and wrapped in plastic,' he said. 'The way I viewed service and sacrifice changed forever and the direction of my life changed with it. I knew it was my responsibility to use the great platform that I have to help the world understand, and be inspired by, the spirit of those who wear the uniform.'
