Following a non-stop itinerary of events since arriving in Sydney, Meghan Markle is taking a break. According to reports, the Duchess, who announced her pregnancy before arriving in Australia, is streamlining her Royal Tour schedule.
“After a busy programme, The Duke and Duchess have decided to cut back The Duchess’s schedule slightly for the next couple of days, ahead of the final week and a half of the tour,” a source told The Daily Mirror.
Meghan is “feeling fine but resting” the source said, adding that the goal is “just trying to pace things for her.” Meghan and Harry have a packed agenda of appearances across Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga and New Zealand over the next ten days.
Saturday evening had been a late night for the couple as they attended the Invictus Games opening ceremony. The pair looked closer than ever at the event where they'd made their first public appearance together exactly one year ago.
"I have been so proud to be able to introduce my wife to you and we have been so happy to be able to celebrate the personal joy of our newest addition with you all," Harry told the crowd while giving his speech at the Sydney Opera House.
Earlier in the day Harry took a quiet moment to practise his speech in front of his wife.
Meghan was set to present medals at a road cycling event for the Invictus Game on Sunday morning but Harry appeared at the event alone. According to ABC News reporter Jade Macmillan, Harry told Invictus competitors Meghan is “resting back at home, being pregnant takes its toll."
After resting on Sunday morning, Meghan joined Harry for a lunch reception hosted by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison. In the afternoon the couple took to the seas to watch the sailing final at the Invictus Games.
