Megan Barton-Hanson Blasts Ex Who Judged Her For Working In The Sex Industry

Megan Barton-Hanson has always been one of our favourite Love Islanders (so much so we even put her on the cover of Grazia). Ever since she strutted into the villa, Megan has been a huge advocate for sex positivity and has been candid about her past as a stripper. And while we love her, and even though it's 2020, Megan{ =nofollow}has reminded us that slut-shaming is still, unfortunately, alive and well.

Uploading a screenshot of a text to her Instagram stories, the former Islander said that an unnamed ex blamed her career in the sex industry for the demise of their relationship. She shared part of the message on her Instagram Stories, which read: ‘Then you was going on dates with lads for a job, selling your knickers for £200 and the liking.’

'So this is part of a paragraph someone I was dating used against me in the past,' she wrote. ‘Slut-shaming me and blaming partly why we ended on me working in the sex industry.’

‘At 20 this would have killed me,' the Celebs Go Dating star continued. 'Thinking that someone I loved judged me like this. But the truth is it says more about them. Don’t let anyone belittle you for using your femininity to get that dollar especially when they met you knowing your line of work!’

As Megan said, sex work is still work - and a legitimate way many, many people make money. And if your partner knows that when they've met you, it seems ridiculous for them to turn that back on you when the relationship is going sour. It does show more about them than you.

But luckily Megan is the one who's laughing now, as she could have been making £38,000 a month from OnlyFans. She ended her post with the quite frankly iconic line: 'My god if you don’t rate someone for being able to sell their £5 panties for £200. I don’t want you in my life.’
