Love Island's Maura Higgins{
Speaking at Girls With Goals on Her.ie, this year's star said: ‘I remember last year when they called me up and I was with my ex – we had been together about six months and I said, “no I’m in a relationship.” They were like, “how long have you been with that guy,” and I said, “six months,” and they were like, “well you don’t really know that that’s going to last,” and they said to me, “if anything happens closer to the show, let us know and we’ll get you in there.”’
Maura and Curtis are one of the last remaining couples to still be together following the show's finale in July. Yet the pair have opted not to put a label on their relationship yet.
The reality favourite also recently revealed that she stormed out of the villa and wanted to quit the hit ITV2 dating show in scenes that weren't aired over the summer.
Speaking to the boohoo podcast Get The Scoop, the 28-year-old said she attempted to leave because she thought she'd never find love, until she met fellow contestant Curtis.
She said, 'You have a lot of good moments, but then you have a lot of bad moments in there too because things get very heightened. I’m so proud of the fact I didn’t give up because I was going to. I actually stormed out of the villa and said, “I want to go home, I can’t do it anymore, I can’t find a man." But I’m so proud that I got the strength to stay and carry on… and now look, I’ve got a man!'
