Another day, another celebrity engagement. This time it's congratulations to Mary-Kate Olsen and Olivier Sarkozy who are set to tie the knot after two years of dating, according to reports in Us Weekly.
The former child star-turned-fashion designer, Mary-Kate, 27, first stepped out with Sarkozy, 44, back in 2012. Since then the couple are regularly photographed enjoying basketballs games together, and hanging out in New York, where they live in a six million dollar mansion.
While this will be Mary Kate's first time down the aisle, it will be Sarkozy's second. The french banker (and half-brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy) was previously married to Charlotte Bernard, with whom he has two children.
Many were initially sceptical of this celeb pairing, what with its 17-year age gap (not to mention height difference), and seemingly opposite lives. Child star and French banker? It doesn't seem the most likely match. And the Internet couldn't believe its luck when photos surfaced of Mary-Kate smoking a fag next to Sarkozy's 10-year-old daughter, who was pretty much the same height as her future stepmother. But, clearly, love has prevailed and they proved their critics wrong.
Now we're just desperate to see a Mary-Kate (and Ashley) wedding. Surely she'll design her own wedding dress…
