Mary Berry fans rejoice, the baking expert is coming back to our screens sooner than we thought.
Having left her much-loved role on Great British Bake Off following the show's move to Channel 4, Berry is sticking with the BBC and starring as lead judge on new cooking programme, Britain’s Best Cook.
Strictly Come Dancing host Claudia Winkleman will present the brand new show, and the BBC is reportedly currently searching for the second judge to join Berry.
A similar format to Great British Bake Off, Britain’s Best Cook will see talented cooks go head to head making versions of classic British dishes.
'I am never more at home than when I have my judging hat on,' Berry commented.
'This series is going to encourage proper home cooking which I have always championed and I cannot wait to start. Claudia, for me, is the icing on the cake,' she continued.
Winkleman, the BBC's best paid female star, is equally excited to join the project.
'I am over the moon to be part of this show. I am slightly obsessed with Mary so will follow her around with my own moussaka for most of the filming. Apologies in advance,' the TV star joked.
Berry's Great British Bake Off co-star Paul Hollywood will continue with the show when it starts on Channel 4 later this year. Hollywood will judge the show with cookery writer Prue Leith, and Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding will present.
Only one question remains: what will happen to pun-tastic duo Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins? Fingers crossed there's also a cooking related show in the pipeline for them...
