At this time of year, you probably have a love/loathe relationship with Mariah Carey. Her Christmas classic All I Want For Christmas has been played on a loop on the music channels for about 3 weeks now, pumped out of shop stereo systems, and wheeled out at every office party across the land, so either you can just about handle it when you’re mullered on mulled wine, or it makes you want to gouge your eyeballs out with a blunt spoon.
But there’s no denying the lady can sing, and she's responsible for some of the best ’90s and ’00s bangers of all time (even The Emancipation of Mimi had some great tracks on there). So news that she’s doing a European tour has got the Debrief office pretty happy. Her Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour will visit six cities in the UK before heading to mainland Europe, and will consist of her biggest hits, from Hero and Fantasy to Always Be My Baby and We Belong Together. It’s her first tour since 2003, so that’s kind of a big deal.
Mariah announced the tour with a very Mariah announcement, ‘Lambily, it’s been too long!! I’m so excited to be coming to Europe to perform for you all. I promise we’re going to share the most amazing moments together and I have so many surprises in store for you daahhlings! Can’t wait to see you all in your hometowns. Love Mariah xx.’
News of a Mariah tour is basically an excuse to look up Mariah GIFs – we can’t wait to see her performing this:
