It’s been quite the summer on the ‘celebrity daughter getting muddy at a festival front’. First Madonna’s teen daughter Lourdes documented her weekend at the The Hudson Project music festival on her Material Girl blog, and now we hear President Obama’s daughter Malia hit up the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago over the weekend.

Several tweets from festival-goers at the three-day event report seeing the 16-year-old enjoying the music, including a set by Chance The Rapper on Sunday night. Twitter user @slumdog_ says he asked her for a picture but says she told him she’s not allowed.

Sarah Cleaver was luckier however, posting this pretty awesome selfie with Malia, who seems to be in a great mood. According to sources, she hung out with a couple of friends and was protected at all times by two secret service agents in plain clothes. It was pretty muddy at the festival, but there's no word on what her footwear situation was.

Chicago is the hometown of the Obamas so no doubt it was a welcome return to the city for Malia, who’s already spent some time in Los Angeles this summer, interning on the set of a new Halle Berry series.

Lollapalooza takes place at Grant Park in downtown Chicago, right on the shore of Lake Michigan so it probs brought back a ton of memories for Malia since it’s where the Obamas celebrated both election wins.
