Fans of the chaotically brilliant sitcom Motherland have been lapping up its spin-off Amandaland, which puts Lucy Punch's titular character front and centre of the narrative. While the fictional Amanda Hughes is navigating a new chapter in the BBC series - divorced and raising teenagers in a downsized property - how does Lucy's romantic life differ off-screen?

Who is Lucy Punch's partner?

Lucy, 47 - who has also starred in films including Bad Teacher, Hot Fuzz and Into the Woods - previously dated Marvel star James D'Arcy before settling down with her partner, artist Dinos Chapman, in Los Angeles.

According to MailOnline, the couple struck up a romance in 2014 after he split from his wife Tiphaine de Lussy, with whom he shares two daughters. Dinos - born in 1962 - and Lucy went on to have a family as well, welcoming two sons who are now aged nine and three.

Who is Dinos Chapman?

Dinos is one half of former British visual art duo The Chapman Brothers. He and his older sibling Jake joined forces to create artwork that explored deliberately shocking subjects. The brothers ceased collaborations in 2022, with Jake telling The Guardian, 'Nothing about our practice was amicable. It was never a love-in. It was always tinged with a certain seething disdain for each other so I guess at some point that reached critical mass, and we decided to go our separate ways.'

Discussing how she and Dinos strike a balance parenting with their work commitments, Lucy - who moved to LA two decades ago - said, 'We don’t have normal jobs so we can, in a very mismanaged, chaotic way, divide up childcare.'

When the LA fires took hold last month, Amanda, Dinos and their boys left their Laurel Canyon home and fled to the Joshua Tree desert. The fire closest to their home was controlled, but it has still left Lucy weighing up whether she wants to stay in the States - an argument she's long had with herself.

She told The Times, 'I’ve always got one foot out the door, wherever I am. I never got round to getting a green card. I’m on these rolling visas, which is ridiculous. I have a home there and I have two American children. But I can’t commit to anywhere. I get itchy feet. I like being a little bit here and a little bit there.'
