Let’s face it, X Factor has never been the same since Little Mixwere crowned champions. With dwindling ratings, this year Simon Cowell has decided to spice things up a bit - by changing the format completely, and creating a celebrity version of the show.
It’s sure sounds interesting (or, perhaps, bonkers enough to warrant a watch). But, if like us you’re obsessed with Love Island, then we have some more good news: four of last year’s contestants are teaming up to form a supergroup.
So, just who is going to be in it, we hear you ask? Well, rumours have it that that the reality-stars-turned-singers are going to be Wes Nelson, Samira Mighty, Zara McDermott and Eyal Booker. Which to be honest, would make sense as Samira was a West End star and Eyal was actually in a pop band once upon a time. (EverYoung ring a bell? Us neither.)
Last year’s Georgia ‘Loyal’ Steel confirmed the news, telling the Daily Star, ‘I think they looked at Love Island and had auditions for a few people. They got picked because they have the best voices,’ Georgia told Daily Star. ‘I am not just saying this but Zara has got the most beautiful voice – probably one of the most beautiful voices I ever heard.’
Love Island not your thing? Gemma Collins and Glee’s Kevin McHale are also rumoured to star - along with Olivia Olson, aka the little girl in Love Actually. As if that isn't enough, after Celebrity X Factor, there’s due to be an X Factor: All Stars, where previous contestants will compete for the title of, erm, ultimate X Factor Champion.
