Wes Nelson will battle it out tonight in the semi-finals of Dancing On Ice to win himself a place in the final but it looks as if things have got a little too much for the Love Island star.

Each contestant will skate to a song that means something to them and during an interview with ITV, Wes breaks down over failed relationship with ex-girlfriend Megan Barton Hanson.

This weekend Wes will skate to Luther Vandross song, ‘Never Too Much’ which has sentimental value to him.

He said, “It's my parents wedding song. My mum and dad genuinely mean the absolute world to me. I can't even thank them enough for how much they've done for me. It's a big thank you to them really. I think my mum and dad completely personify the word 'love.’ ”

Although Wes gets teary when he starts to open up about split between himself and Megan.

He continues, “Of course I've experienced love but I'd love to love like my parents do. Me and Megs we had a really, really good bond and it makes me upset now to talk about it but it isn't great, and it was really, really difficult at the time."

The Love Island couple’s relationship broke down during the early weeks of the show as Megan hit out at Wes’ skating partner Vanessa Bauer for ‘tactical’ break-up with her boyfriend in an Instagram rant.

Megan wrote, ‘"@vanessabauer_skates love that you decide to announce your breakup with your boyfriend on the night of your 1st performance with my boyfriend!"

She continued, "You've never reached out to me once or invited me to watch you train, it pained you to introduce yourself to me last night you didn't even look me in the eye LOL hope the tactical breakup got you the headlines you wanted babe @wes.nelson"

This weekend each skater will have to perform a solo skate to bag themselves a place in next weekend’s final to be crowned the winner of Dancing On Ice 2019 without the help of their professional skater partner.
