Winter Love Island is finally back on our screens, as we all huddled round the TV last night to watch a whole new bunch of singletons strut their way into the villa – and one of the islanders already turning heads is Tanyel Revan.
Who is Tanyel?
Dubbed ‘Ekin-2.0’ by fans, the glamorous brunette hails from North London, where she works as a hairstylist.
The ever-so-glamorous Tanyel managed to turn quite a few heads when she walked in – and by quite a few, we mean almost everyone. But even though the hairstylist seems to have her pick of the boys, she’s got some pretty high standards when it comes to finding the one.
When asked about why she thinks she’s still single, Tanyel told Grazia: ‘I aways think I’m perfect! Maybe I’m too picky. Or maybe it’s because I’m high maintenance. Who knows?’
How old is Tanyel?
Tanyel is 26 years old – and with the Islanders seemingly growing younger every year, she bleakly averages out as one of the oldest islanders currently in South Africa.

The lads couldn’t help but pull each other for a chat last night about how Tanyel was sending their heart rates flying – but when it comes to what she wants, there’s no messing around.
Currently coupled up with PE and science teacher Kai Fagan (who’s channelling a bit of OG Islander Adam Collard as he juggles three girls on the first day), Tanyel says that her type is actually another familiar face.
‘Michael [Griffiths] the firefighter was really cute,’ she says, adding ‘I always end up going for a bad boy. I just love someone putting me in my place! I love a guy who argues with me – maybe I love an argument, I can’t help it!’
And when it comes to fights around the firepit, Tanyel’s fellow gal-pals might find themselves in the firing line. She says ‘The whole point of this is to find love. So these girls, I’m going to meet them and give them the same chances as I do the guys. I will be stepping on toes, but in a respectful way.’

Describing herself as ‘charismatic’ and ‘feisty’, the hairstylist is no doubt set to shake things up in the villa. And when it comes to getting her point across, it looks like Tanyel isn’t afraid to speak her mind.
Opening up about why she’d love to have Piers Morgan round for a dinner party, Tanyel explains ‘I’m very direct like he is. I don’t agree with everything he says, but I like him because he’s so direct and I respect it in a way. I think we’d end up debating and then I’d get tired of him sooner or later, because he can’t back down in an argument.’

Although the show has introduced a new rule in which the islander’s Instagram accounts will remain inactive during their South African holiday, Tanyel’s already bagged herself a decent following.
Before even seeing her face on screen, the islander had amassed an incredible following of 17.8k followers – which currently stands at an impressive 30k following last night’s show.
