The current series of Love Island has just come to an end, with Paige Turley and Finn Tapp being crowned as king and queen of the villa - but you can already apply for the next series, as Laura Whitmore confirmed that series seven would be hitting screens this summer.
‘If you’re at home and thinking, “Get me in that villa”, then I have a treat for you,’ she said. 'The next series we’ll be heading back to sunny Majorca this summer.’ (Fancy a stint in the villa? You can applyhere.)
Last night’s final saw Siannise Fudge and Luke Trotman placed runners up, with Demi Jones and Luke Mabbott coming in third and Jess Gale and Ched Uzor in fourth.
The programme was dedicated to the late Caroline Flack, with Laura delivering an emotional tribute. ‘The past week has been extremely difficult coming to terms with the loss of our friend and colleague Caroline,' she said. 'We’ll be thinking of her family and everyone who knew her at this time. Caroline loved Love Island, she loved love, and that’s why tonight’s final is dedicated to her.' A montage of clips showing Caroline hosting the show, over the past five years, was then aired.
It's likely the next series will return at the end of May or early June - and there's no news as to whether there will be another winter Love Island.
