Amy Hart was one of the most memorable contestants on Love Island last summer (no, we can’t believe it was almost a year ago either), only to be confirmed when she walked away from the villa with her head held high after kinda-boyfriend Curtis Pritchard dumped her. (We can still hear her saying, 'I was coming back here to tell you I love you'.) Her decision made her incredibly popular, with appearances on Loose Women and, as standard for the most-loved contestants, a huge social media following.

A year on, and with 96,000k followers on Twitter (she has 1.2million on Instagram), the former air hostess has been getting particularly political since the beginning of lockdown - urging her fans to join a union, and fighting for her former colleagues as British Airways plans to lay off thousands of cabin crew and then re-hire them on half pay.

And last night, she wrote that she officially complained to the BBC after the broadcaster ruled that Emily Maitlis breached their impartiality rules on Newsnight after speaking about Dominic Cummings on Tuesday.

But it was her response to chancellor Rishi Sunak’s widely ridiculed tweet - which quoted a Sun article saying Nando’s is set to re-open - which garnered the biggest response. ‘Actually, I'd rather hear that my freelance friends and colleagues will have some form of financial help whilst they can't physically work as their workplaces are closed,’ she wrote, after Sunak said Nando's reopening was the news we've been waiting for. ‘Enjoy your chicken.’ Her tweet has since had nearly 9,000 likes.

Amy has also said she’d quite happily be castmate Amber Gill’s deputy, as Amber said she might run for prime minister as she criticised the government during the crisis. ‘I never thought I'd be able to get into politics but as I get older I realise these guys just make stuff up on the spot,’ Amber wrote. ‘So with that in mind I might run for PM.’ (We would vote for them, tbh.)

As it seems like we are all spending more time on social media in lockdown, we decided to take a look at some of her best tweets. Take a look below.
